My dentist reccomended I see Dr. Murphy because I had both severe jaw pain and a snoring problems. With the help of a MRI and a Sleep Study, he determined that my TMJ required physical therapy and that I have Sleep Apnea. THe PT resolved my jaw pain and a MAS mouth splint resolved my Sleep Apnea. Now I can chew most anything without pain and I’m sleeping throught the night. Dr. Murphy and his staff were wonderful and I am very pleased with the results.

I have been suffering from acute sleep apnea for fifteen years and like most sufferers, before being introduced to Dr. Spencer, I had been using a CPAP machine for treatment .

I know CPAP helps a lot of patients and for some it is the only solution, however hideous and inconvenient it may be. As for me, I tried like hell to avoid CPAP and even endured one of the most painful surgical procedures you can imagine before succumbing to the inevitable. My doctors told me if I didn’t start CPAP I would be looking forward to an early grave, so I reluctantly strapped one on. I truly sympathize with anyone who has no choice but CPAP and pray they are lucky enough to have an understanding and supportive spouse like my wife. She is a beautiful and caring person who endured many sleepless nights throughout my ordeal, may god bless her.

Four years after using CPAP, I developed excruciating sinus attacks that seemed to appear out of thin air. I went to an allergist and got tested but, nothing registered so I was diagnosed with acute sinusitis (the Denver nose) and was relocated to carrying a bottle of nose spray with me at all times. It was driving me crazy and after two years of suffering without much relief, I was finally referred to Dr. Spencer. I remember my first consultation with Dr. Spencer, he thought he might be able to help me with the sinus attacks but one look at a sleep study I had brought with me and he about fell out of his chair. What can I say? My sleep apnea is very severe and previous treatments to this point had failed to provide substantial relief so I could certainly understand his concern. We discussed the pros and cons of an oral appliance; I decided to try it and I think we both were anxious to see how effective one would be.

The word that best describes the results is MIRACULOUS. The first night I wore the appliance was the first night in five years I fell asleep with my arms around my wife (try that with a CPAP mask on) and I slept for six blissful hours. That was more than seven months ago and I now consistently sleep six or more hours a night without CPAP and the sinus attacks have all but gone away completely. If anyone is interested, I have two CPAP machines collecting dust in my closet; I’ll make you a good deal!

Dr. Spencer’s treatment hit it out of the park. I took to the appliance like a dream and it has quite simply changed my life. I feel better because I sleep better, not to mention it has had the most profound effect on my marriage, intimacy and CPAP don’t mix well together!

Thank you so much Dr. Spencer, you truly are one of the good guys and we wish for Gods blessing on all those apnea sufferers who don’t find their way to your door.

My TMJ issues were at a very critical stage. A day splint, night splint, physical therapy, exercises and
follow-up appointments for adjustments really helped!  Follow all the doctors orders and be consistant!
The staff is always compassionate and always has a smile.  Thank you so very much Adrienne, Janetta, Donna and Dr. Spencer.

Decades of painful jaw locking and no dentist suggested a cure.  I’d come to accept I had to live with it.  But the last two years of headaches, eye pain, sinus problems and then asthma led me to a round of doctor appointments and tests, and finally to an allergist, whose second question was “does your jaw lock?”  He confirmed I had no allergies, and referred me to Craniofacial Pain Center.
Six months later, I’m virtually free of symptoms!  Dr. Specer and his staff explained my TMJ disorder, gave me a treatment plan, and provided attentive care. I had no idea TMJ disorders could cause so many of my problems, but it did. The food guidlines were not difficult, eased my pain, and I even lost ten pounds!
This is the place to go for a real solution, once and for all.  Thank you everyone at CPC, I feel so much better and I owe it all to you!

For the past three years Craniofacial Pain Center has been a lifeline for me.  I injured my jaw in a car accident and the pain I experienced was severe at times.
Dr. Gerald Murphy and Dr. Jamison Spencer are highly qualified doctors in the field of temporomandibular joint injuries. I am grateful to my dentist for recommending their practice to me.  The Doctors diagnosed my problem, prepared an upper and lower splint with clear instructions on how and when to wear them and scheduled follow-up for splint adjustments, prognosis and counseling.  They recommended and outstanding physical therapist to aid their splint therapy.
The office staff is friendly, skilled and compassionate.
Thanks to their expertise I am now on a will call basis.  I know when I have another “flare up” they are there to help get my jaw stabilized.
I highly reccomend Craniofacial Pain Center to anyone who is suffering from jaw pain.

I wish to share with you my experience in regards to the discomfort and frustration of the clicking and popping of my left jaw.

It first began in January of 2009, when I was eating lunch and without warning, my left jaw made a clicking and grinding sound that only I could hear. It was very frustrating and I was quite confused on what was happening.

After contacting my general dentist, he referred me to the Craniofacial Pain Center of Colorado (CPC Colorado). The Doctors at CPC Colorado explained to me in detail the cause of my problem and discussed the steps they would take to help me. The situation was alarming to me, for the simple reason that I had never heard of this condition before. I was very concerned to find out that this condition was ‘not’ covered by my insurance company, but was convinced I needed help to prevent further problems in the future.

Putting my trust in the doctors at CPC Colorado and their specialized experience, along with the understanding and encouragement of their staff, I was able to get the help I needed. The retainer that they custom fit for me provided stability to my entire mouth and eliminated much of the clicking and grinding in my jaw.

With the proper recommended treatment and a customized mouth appliance, I have stabilized shifting teeth and have kept my jaw from discomfort while talking and chewing.

I wish to thank the Doctors at the Craniofacial Pain Center of Colorado and their professional staff for their kind attention to my needs.

Thank you so much for curing my TMJ. I had suffered so much after a recent surgery. After visits to surgical doctors and dentists I was referred to Dr. Jamison Spencer. After my initial visit and CAT scan it was determined the disc was dislocated. Dr. Spencer was so kind and reassuring it could be put back in and I would not have ALL the pain. The treatment worked perfectly and I was able to open my mouth without pain. The doctor and staff were so pleasant and kind. It was such a good experience. Thanks again Dr. Spencer.

“After two sleep studies, in 2005 I attempted to use a CPAP machine for my apnea and snoring.  I was not able to tolerate this appliance and felt very discouraged.  My husband also had to sleep in another room during this time because of my loud snoring, not a plus in the first few years of a marriage.

After (my sleep appliance fitting), it was amazing to be able to sleep, with 90% less snoring and decreased apnea.  Good news, my husband is back and we are both sleeping through the night!!!  This appliance is very comfortable, so much so that I don’t necessarily remove it upon first wakening.  It is easy to use, maintain and travel with.

I would like to thank Dr. Spencer, and his wonderful, kind, helpful staff for their help and support.

~Suzanne

“Thank you so much for being an unusually caring doctor.  I seems my life has been so defined by headaches that it is wonderful to have someone care so much and actually provide relief.  Everyone in your office is so warm and friendly too.  I also appreciate the times you fit me in your schedule.”
~Pam

“I can’t thank you enough for “curing” my TMJ!!  As you know, I was in tremendous pain and I’m so happy to report that I am now “pain free”!  My appliance fits beautifully and that is because of your constant adjustment and I might add – your caring.”
